MANSION

The Chobolobo Mansion or Country Estate was built in the early 1800's.

The Country House is located in the center of a piece of land which has an area of 10,500 m² (2 ½ acres).

The property's history is rather sketchy, but we do know that in the early 1900's it belonged to the Family Jesurun. In 1947 the property was purchased by N.V. Senior & Co. producer of the one and only GENUINE "Curacao of Curacao" liqueur.
At a later date, the property was transferred to "Curacao Laboratories Ltd." Senior & Co is an affiliate of this company.

During the late 1940's and early 1950's the building housed a very well known and respected club - Chobolobo Club. Besides being a "night club" Curacao's first Carnival Queen was crowned here. Also as attested by various photo's displayed in our Gallery, high-level governmental lunches and other meetings took place in the main-lounge.

As of the year 1962 Senior's "Curaçao of Curaçao" distillery has been located in these premises, where we proudly produce the one and only "GENUINE" Curacao Liqueur in the entire world.
Our liqueur is the only one elaborated with the native Laraha, an indigenous bitter orange that was brought to Curacao in the early 1500's from Valencia, Spain.

In September 1998, the building was declared a "Protected Monument".
